Each week I have the privilege of praying for scores of individuals from our large congregation who send in their prayer requests, so I’m very aware of the range of difficulties that they face regarding sickness, financial worries, bereavement, unemployment, business setbacks, broken relationships, and more.

Among the prayers that I bring to God on their behalf is that each person will experience peace and joy in the midst of their difficulties.

Peace? Joy? In the midst of difficulties?

The apostle Paul—who had more than his share of trials and tribulations, including numerous attempts on his life by enemies—experienced peace and joy in the midst of good and bad times, and he reminds us that:

* Faith in Jesus Christ brings peace:

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done…

3 Interview Questions That Reveal Everything

3 Interview Questions That Reveal Everything

Forking over a Facebook password to an employer?

As I have addressed in a previous post and have been preaching for many years now, here is another article warning about your social media presence and how it affects your job search. Please take heed and clean up your image (if necessary) especially if you are serious about finding a job or are in any type of career transition. You do NOT want your Facebook or any other social media profile to hinder your ability to land your next job. Social media, when used properly, will enhance your job search and career!

Choose to Believe

Just because you do not believe, you cannot comprehend, or you flat out choose not to accept a promise or certain promises in God’s Word does NOT mean they (the promises) are not true and does NOT nullify the power and validity thereof! We are NEVER to simply believe, react or respond to only what we see with our eyes, or understand with our very limited minds. Where is the God kind of life (He intended for us); where is faith in action? Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The Message reads “The FUNDAMENTAL FACT OF EXISTENCE IS THAT THIS TRUST IN GOD, THIS FAITH, IS THE FIRM FOUNDATION UNDER EVERYTHING THAT MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING. IT’S OUR HANDLE ON WHAT WE CAN’T SEE.” Mark 9:23 (KJV) Jesus said unto him (a man in the multitude whose son was possessed with a “dumb spirit” who brought the boy to the disciples and they could not cast the demon out), If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Check out The Message “Jesus said, If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers – anything can happen!” This anything can include what you cannot fathom; what you did not expect; and further, what you cannot explain!!!  If you do not believe this truth, then you are NOT experiencing the fullness God has for you and, you are not pleasing Him! Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Choose to believe the Word of God 1000% no matter what you see, what you think, what others think or say about you, how you feel or what you’ve experienced. Do not miss out by thinking His answer (to your prayers) can only be determined or revealed based on the outcome or picture you have established in your head (as if our God, who is the creator of the heavens and the earth is restricted by your intellectual capacity or imagination). He is sovereign and omniscient – we are not! 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. Let us join together in being and raising up a generation of true believers who live according to John 14:11-14 (CJB) (Jesus was speaking to His disciples who literally had the privilege of walking on the earth with Him and had an eyewitness account… ) “Believe Me: I am in My Father and My Father is in Me. If you can’t believe that, believe what you see—these works. The person who trusts Me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on My way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever You request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who He is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do. Here is a promise for us who were there physically: John 20:29-31 Jesus said, “So, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.” Jesus provided far more God-revealing signs than are written down in this book. These are written down so you will believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and in the act of believing, have real and eternal life in the way He personally revealed it.

If you have not received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, simply invite Him into your heart. Romans 10:9-13 (CJB): that if you acknowledge publicly with your mouth that Yeshua (Jesus) is Lord and trust in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be delivered. For with the heart one goes on trusting and thus continues toward righteousness, while with the mouth one keeps on making public acknowledgement and thus continues toward deliverance. For the passage quoted says that everyone who rests his trust on Him will not be humiliated. That means that there is no difference between Jew and Gentile – ADONAI is the same for everyone, rich toward everyone who calls on Him, since everyone who calls on the name of ADONAI will be delivered. Says It Won’t Ban Third-Party Ads That Discourage Job Applications From The Unemployed

Here’s an interesting article that speaks to the unfortunate times we live in. The gist of it is has open positions listed on its site by some employers who have the audacity to state in their ads “the unemployed need not apply.” I believe this practice, while it may not be illegal, is fundamentally wrong! What’s really sad is most of them will clean up their ads (due to public outcry), however, their policies will remain. To be clear, my annoyance is NOT directed at – it is squarely aimed at employers engaged in such foolish practices! I think I will try and identify a few and will make sure I do not purchase any of their products or services. Perhaps you can do the same!
